New
York-based Dax brought his wildly entertaining, politically pointed,
and always sold-out theatrical cabaret "Weimar New York" to San
Francisco for its West Coast premiere. Juxtaposing the aesthetics and
music of Weimar-era Berlin with those of the contemporary downtown
performance scene in New York, the show spotlighted the uneasy
parallels between Germany then and the United States now. This
presentation brings together performers from a variety of backgrounds —
including classically trained singers and musicians, performance
